Last year our longstanding client Hemisphere Living, who are an established Gold Coast Furniture Store, asked us to refresh their look with a different colour palette. Below I discuss the changes we made to achieve this.

FROM LIME TO SAGE

The first thing we did was to change their primary green for the brand. The previous brand colour was more of a lime green which was definitely dating the brand palette. We discussed and trialled a few options and ultimately landed on a sage green which softens the overall palette and provides a more modern look.

SPLIT SCREEN HERO SECTION

The client wanted to have 2 clear CTAs for their users and initially asked about using an image slider. We didn’t want to take the website back to 2015 functionality so we came up with the split screen hero section which not only looks unique and funky but also services the purpose of providing 2 key CTAs without risking the possibility of the user not waiting around to see a second slide. 

CONTRAST COLOUR MESSAGE BANNER

The client wanted a message banner below the hero section that could communicate promotions and current focus messages. We decided this needed to be a complementary contrast colour so after trialling a few options we landed on a nice taupe tone which is also quite neutral and soft but does stand out to users.
